The Libertine Cafe

Project Type

Branding, web design, student project

Year

2022

This is a brand concept for a bright and cheerfully eclectic cafe. Located in Yaletown, this brand relies on strong colours and maximalist illustrations to cut through the grey Vancouver weather.

A cafe with zest.

The concept for this cafe began with the idea of eclectic maximalism with a Victorian-inspired twist.

I sourced vintage animal and plant illustrations, and designed a word mark for the logo to balance the busy design elements.

The Modern Dandy

The secondary logo mark for Libertine, a crown and antlers, symbolizes the unity of nature and a free mind.

I enjoyed breaking this mark apart and integrating it with illustrative elements to give the odd animals a little extra character.
